Surat Az-Zukhruf (The Ornaments of Gold) - سورة الزخرف

Muhsin Khan
: "Am I not better than this one [Musa (Moses)], who is Mahin [has no honour nor any respect, and is weak and despicable] and can scarcely express himself clearly?
Muhsin Khan
: "Why then are not golden bracelets bestowed on him, or angels sent along with him?"
Muhsin Khan
: Thus he [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] befooled and misled his people, and they obeyed him. Verily, they were ever a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
Muhsin Khan
: So when they angered Us, We punished them, and drowned them all.
Muhsin Khan
: And We made them a precedent (as a lesson for those coming after them), and an example to later generations.
Muhsin Khan
: And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example).
Muhsin Khan
: And say: "Are our aliha (gods) better or is he ['Iesa (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. [(See VV. 21:97-101) - The Quran.]
